Ecologically sustainable developmental
720 Bourke takes a holistic approach to sustainable design, aiming to provide a building which reduces its carbon footprint while fostering the wellbeing of occupants and actively encouraging a healthier workspace and lifestyle.
A range of factors including façade orientation, floor plate design, construction materials, landscaping and transport facilities have been taken into account to result in significant energy, water, waste management and indoor environmental quality improvements.
The floor plate and atrium design deliver abundant daylight to over 50% of the floor plate. Recent studies have shown that access to daylight improves the health and productivity of occupants. 720 Bourke incorporates leading 8 environmental principles and is designed to achieve a 5 Star NABERS Energy Rating and meet the maximum standard of a 6 Star Green Star Rating.
Cbus property sustainability approach
In order to be environmentally, socially and economically responsible Cbus Property Bourke Junction No.12 Pty Ltd together with JLL, as owner and manager of 720 Bourke respectively, have set industry leading sustainability parameters upon which the asset is to be operated and its performance judged.
For us, this means a fully integrated approach to sustainability initiatives commencing at building design and continuing right through construction to the operational stage of the development. This requires commitment of all participants – consultants, authorities, the builder and sub-contractors and most importantly tenants and their staff.
We strongly believe the property industry as a whole is now confronting the dual challenge of a rapidly growing demand for similarly diminishing resources.
The need to minimise the environmental impact of the workplace by reducing the use of natural resources, our carbon footprint and waste generated is a challenge accepted from the very commencement of this development.
